A twist on charcuterie boards and the cheese board, butter boards are the new charcuterie board and the trendy way to go!
I flavored butter with an easy roasted garlic recipe, made quickly in the air fryer. Roasted garlic lends a sweet mild flavor to this butter.
The roasted garlic along with fresh sage give this butter an amazing taste. Top this off with fig jam and fresh sage leaves and you’ll have yourself a beautiful butter board bursting with seasonal flavors.

I served mine with these mini toasts, because they are just too cute, but you can serve your butter board with your favorite breads and or crackers.

- Change up the flavor of your next butter board and make it with my two ingredient pesto butter! Then top it with minced sundried tomato, black olives and shredded Parmesan cheese or and call it an antipasto butter board! Serve with Italian bread, of course!
- Put a holiday spin on your board and make one with my gingerbread butter! Serve it with mini donuts or gingerbread cookies.
- Make breakfast boards using cream cheese in place of butter and serve with mini bagels
- Goat cheese is a spreadable cheese that would make a delicious spread especially when combined with fresh herbs and sprinkled with candied nuts

- In a mixing bowl combine mashed roasted garlic, softened butter, sage, kosher salt and black pepper.

- Stir ingredients together until blended

- Line a cutting board with parchment paper.
- Spread butter mixture on the parchment paper.

- Dot with fig jam and sprinkle with fresh sage leaves.
- Serve with fresh figs, mini toasts or your favorite breads and crackers.

- Be sure to use soft butter for easy mixing and spreading.
- Roasting garlic in the air fryer is quick and easy but of you prefer the oven method that will work too. I give you directions for both cooking methods in this post.
- A drizzle of honey will added sweetness and flavor
- Drizzle with hot honey for a hint of heat
- If you use a large wooden board and spread the butter thinner than I did, you may want to add an additional Tablespoon of fig jam!
- I like to line my wooden board with parchment paper before making the butter board
- Garnish your board edible flowers for a really pretty presentation
- Add a citrus zest to the flavored butter. ¼ teaspoon of orange zest would taste delightful with the sage and roasted garlic.
- Lemon zest will add a bright citrus flavor to the butter

Substitutions
- You can substitute dried sage for the fresh sage although the flavor will be slightly different
- I used salted butter but you can use unsalted butter if you choose to
- You can substitute 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic for the roasted garlic but it will give the butter a stronger harsher garlic flavor than the roasted garlic
- You can substitute your favorite jam for the fig jam
- Can’t find fresh figs? Garnish with another seasonal fruit
